A man walking along the beach in shorts isn't particularly unusual. But a man walking along the beach carrying a giant teddy bear? That's enough to get the imagination working.

Episode 287 begins with a real encounter that raises more questions than answers. Who was the teddy bear for? Where had it come from? What was the story?

The encounter becomes a reflection on how quickly our minds invent explanations for things we don't understand. We observe a tiny fragment of somebody else's life and immediately begin constructing an entire narrative.

Perhaps the lesson isn't to stop being curious. It's to remember that our imagination isn't necessarily telling us the truth about someone else.
